I Appreciate Your Membership!

I appreciate the opportunity to serve as the president of MCA, and I want to take a moment to thank my fellow board members for their wise counsel and their selfless service to MCA. I am proud to be leading our state's largest commodity organization as we work hard to advance the well being of our great Maryland cattle industry. Please allow me to take this opportunity to thank each of you for your membership and interest in our state cattlemen’s association. Finally, let me draw your attention to a few important items.

WOULD YOU CONSIDER A  GIFT TO MCA?

The Maryland Cattlemen’s Association is a 501-C-3  non-profit organization which means that contributions and gifts to our association beyond the membership dues, are fully tax deductible. MCA has undergone a number of changes over the past year, like opening a new office, which has resulted in added operating costs and expenses. Yet, we have not increased our base dues. I truly believe that we are now better positioned than ever to be the leading and unified voice for our industry in Maryland and around the region. Would you consider making a contribution to the work of your state association? We will immediately provide you with a gift receipt and your support will be broadly recognized. Checks should be payable to MCA and mailed to P.O. Box 259 in Sykesville, 21784. Thanks in advance for considering this need.

HOW ABOUT A NEW HAT?

We have a good supply of both MCA Logo hats as well as some pretty nice looking "BEEF It's What for Dinner" hats. You can view the selection under the "Order a Hat" link where all the details are available.

2010 CONVENTION IS OUR 23rd!

I hope you plan to attend the 23rd annual cattle industry convention scheduled for March 5th and 6th. It will be a very enjoyable and educational weekend. We will again host the Maryland Pasture and Forage Conference and the 7th Annual Youth Skill-A-Thon during our convention. We are grateful for the strong support from our sponsors and partners for this great event. The new format for our Annual Meeting that we tried in 2009 was a great success so we will again host a breakfast meeting on Saturday morning March 6th with the time devoted solely to annual meeting business. Please make it a point to join us and contribute to the future direction of your association.

I appreciate the opportunity to serve as president of our great association. I thank you for your support and I wish each of you a prosperous and profitable 2010.
